Adam Scott’s horror hit Hokum has set its digital and physical release dates. The overlooked movie became a major box office success following its release earlier this year.
When is the digital, 4K Ultra HD, & Blu-ray release date for Hokum?
NEON has announced that Hokum will be available on digital platforms on June 2, 2026, followed by Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, and DVD on August 11, 2026. The digital release comes just a month after its theatrical run, which itself debuted at SXSW 2026 to rave reviews. The film currently holds an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, counting 186 reviews, with audiences equally impressed at 83% on the Popcornmeter.
“When novelist Ohm Bauman (Scott) retreats to a remote inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, he is consumed by tales of a witch haunting the honeymoon suite,” reads the film’s synopsis. “Disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance force him to confront the darkest corners of his past.”
Hokum’s physical release will also include the following exclusive bonus content:
- Behind-the-scenes making-of documentary
- Feature commentary with Damien McCarthy
- The original teaser and trailer
- Jack the Donkey, A Family Favorite (short film)
At the box office, Hokum collected over $23 million internationally, an impressive return on its $5 million budget, driven largely by strong word of mouth. As for streaming, fans can expect Hokum to arrive on Hulu eventually, likely three to six months after the theatrical release, putting its streaming debut anywhere between August and November 2026.

In a recent interview, Scott told ComingSoon that he was drawn to Bauman’s “arrogant and kind of uninteresting” nature when signing on to the project. Scott is most well-known for playing Mark Scout on Apple TV’s Severance. The film is Damian McCarthy’s third horror venture, following 2020’s Caveat and 2024’s Oddity.
Hokum is written and directed by Damian McCarthy.
