This Smart Travel Jacket Has Earned Over $8 Million on Kickstarter

A travel jacket has garnered over $8 million on Kickstarter to become the most funded item of clothing ever on the crowdfunding website, dramatically exceeding its initial goal of $20,000.

The travel jacket from startup Baubax looks to make traveling easier by offering a variety of pockets to fit in your electronic devices (it even has space for a tablet), passport and other such important items, with it also coming with an inflatable neck pillow that can be used to make your journey more comfortable.

It also comes in a variety of different styles, from windbreaker, to blazer, to sweatshirt, to bomber. The best part of the video advertising it is undoubtedly when the businessman pulls a pair of the blazer’s attached gloves from out of its sleeves, instantly diminishing its classy appearance in the process. Nonetheless, for frequent fliers the variety of pockets and other assorted gadgets stored in these jackets will prove very useful.

The cheapest model of the jacket, the sweatshirt, has been made available for $129 to those who pledge to its Kickstarter campaign today, though it will retail in the future for $160. The windbreaker and bomber will feature a future retail price of $175, while the more expensive blazer will sell for $200.

While no one could have predicted the success of the Baubax Travel Jacket, with there being many items of clothing that offer a similar use but that always manage to look absolutely awful, we’re glad that a company is offering travel clothing that is both practical and passably stylish.
