Recipe: Slow Cooker Mac and Cheese Comfort Food

You see that photo up there? That’s supposed to be Mac and Cheese. It’s not, really. Or, if it is, it’s for toddlers who make Mac and Cheese the staple food of their daily diet. You’re a grown up, and if you’re going to enjoy comfort food, you need to go more adult.

This comfort food recipe fits the bill, serving up Macaroni and Cheese out of a slow cooker for the enjoyment of all men of refinement (who are really children at heart).

Slow Cooker Mac and Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 – 12 oz can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp salt Dash pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 5 cups grated cheese. Sharp cheddar, Colby Jack and Swiss.
  • Paprika

Preparation: Spray the slow cooker Mix macaroni, evaporated milk, milk, salt, pepper, eggs and 4 1/2 cups cheese Add to slow cooker. Spread the 1/2 cup cheese over top and sprinkle with Paprika. Cook 3-4 hours. Shut off, stir and serve.
