How To Get A Table At Heston’s Fat Duck Melbourne

They’ll be no preferential treatment given to any diners wanting to experience Heston Blumenthal’s pop-up version of three Michelin-starred restaurant The Fat Duck when it arrives in Melbourne next year, with the announcement of a ballot system for reservations.

About 16,000 diners will be given the opportunity to experience the $525 multi-sensory set menu, reports Good Food, with the ballot, operated through Crown’s Fat Duck Melbourne website, to open from October 8th until October 26th.

The results will be announced on November 10th, enough time for prospective diners to work out just which organs they plan on selling to fund their Blumenthal adventure.

The entire staff of The Fat Duck, located just outside of London, is moving to Melbourne for the pop-up restaurant. “Unless we charge $10,000 a head, you’d be losing money,” Heston told Good Food. “So Crown have got to get the balance between – you’ll have some high rollers, some big spenders, and that young couple who it might be their lifetime thing [to] save up and get in.”

The Melbourne Fat Duck will set up at Crown from February until August next year before being turned into a local version of Blumenthal’s London restaurant, Dinner by Heston, in October.

The ballot opens at 9am October 8th. Enter here.
