VIDEO: iPad iOS 8 Split-Screen Mode Revealed

Though Apple didn't give away any details at WWDC regarding the rumored split-screen feature coming to iPads via iOS 8, developer Steven Troughton-Smith has managed to access it and has released a video showing us how it works, which you can view above.

The video makes operating an iPad in split-screen look a little rough, though considering it's currently in its beta stages this is to be expected. When/if Apple eventually decides to roll this out, we should anticipate something much more in line with current tablets that boast the feature.

Multi-screen functionality has been a big request from iPad users for a while now, and it seems likely that Apple is finally going to give them the feature that owners of Microsoft's Surface tablets have been using for a while now.

Split-screen functionality will essentially allow users to browse through multiple programs and web pages on the same iPad screen, allowing for easier multi-tasking using the tablet. There's no word yet on when it will be making its way to the iPad, though it is expected to launch alongside iOS 8 later this year. We can but hope.
