Airline Passenger Gets The Saddest ‘Vegetarian’ In-Flight Meal You’ll Ever See

If you’ve chosen to be a vegetarian, more power to you, as it would be very difficult for me to go down that route. So I will stick to eating my garbage food as long as I can. But for some people, they enjoy eating healthy, and one man, journalist Steve Hogarty, who is a vegetarian, learned just how healthy one can be being a vegetarian. Let me explain.
Hogarty recently found himself on a flight with Colombian airlines Avianca. And when it came time for passengers to get their in-flight meal (they still do that?), Hogarty of course chose the vegetarian option. But what did Hogarty get? This:
The vegetarian meal on this flight is an apple and a pear wrapped in clingfilm, served with a knife and fork. pic.twitter.com/CT7hypCylb

That’s right, folks, Hogarty got an apple and a pear wrapped in clingfilm. Oh, it also came with a knife and fork, too, just in case. Avianca was quick to respond:
Service is our priority, please let us know your flight date/number and also your contact information via DM. This is not our standard so we surely will investigate as soon as possible. AC

Well it’s not meat, so I guess Avianca wasn’t entirely in the wrong. And you just know that Twitter was going to chime in.
I asked for a veggie meal on a flight once and this is what I got. At least yours was wrapped pic.twitter.com/1yU8GCceO4

Had a banana once. Luckily it was a short flight and we’d pigged out in the airline lounge beforehand.

On a recent @British_Airways flight I asked for a vegetarian meal and they told me they had none left, but kindly offered me chicken or beef as an alternative. I eventually got given some cheese.
