Weight-loss stories are always great to shine a light on as we see men and women going the extra mile to add year to their life. From the woman who lost weight and dumped her husband after being fat-shamed by him to the overweight man who was dumped by his girlfriend only to lose weight and get a hotter girlfriend, these stories come up on the news every now and then. But now it’s time to put the spotlight on Frances Carpenter.
The 28-year-old software support engineer saw herself reaching 331 pounds, as she was raised by a single mom who spoiled her with food. But all that changed when Carpenter began experiencing pre-diabetic symptoms such as fatigue, blurred vision and frequent urination. And that was enough for her to change her life. And now look at the difference.
Quite the incredible change. Carpenter went from consuming 2,000 calories a day to 1,600 a day, and started focusing more on healthy foods.
“I have seen members of my family lose their life because of their weight and weight-related health issues, I just didn’t want that to be me,” Carpenter states. I have been overweight throughout my entire life from adolescence to my teen years; always turning to food as comfort for anything that didn’t go my way. I was an emotional eater to put it lightly. The way I grew up, my childhood was not the easiest; being raised by a single parent.”
Carpenter was quick to join a CrossFit gym to improve her weight, and the work is obviously paying off. “I joined a Crossfit gym that completely changed my workout routine,” Carpenter states. “Crossfit incorporates every type of workout including cardio, weightlifting, gymnastics, and strength training all at different intensity levels.”
Here’s what else Francis had to say, as she currently weighs in at 200 pounds from her high point of 331 pounds.
“I have had people not recognize me. People are usually shocked at my results. A lot of people congratulate me on the hard work I have put in. Everyone wants to know how I did it, I get that a lot. Just a lot of hard work and dedication. I feel healthy, I have tons of energy that I never had before. I’m confident, proud and extremely happy. Words cannot describe the feeling.
