Harry Potter’s 4 Privet Drive Home is Now Up For Sale

If you’re a Harry Potter fan with an enviable amount of disposable income then you can now move into 4 Privet Drive, the house that Harry lived in with hellish aunt and uncle in the series’ movie adaptations.

The house, which is actually located in Bracknell, Berkshire, has been listed as for sale by estate agents Chancellors, with it currently boasting an asking price of £475,000. The house doesn’t quite resemble the set we saw in the likes of The Sorcerer’s Stone, with it having a much more modern interior than when it was occupied by Harry and the Dursley family in the film series.

The listing for the property makes no mention of its ties to Harry Potter, instead displaying a short description which notes that it has “recently undergone complete renovation to an extremely high standard.”

But even though Chancellors have been discreet about its history, that still hasn’t stopped the property from attracting a lot of attention, with it having received thousands of views since being listed on the estate agents’ website. The house was previously sold back in May 2010 for £290,000, though rocketing house prices (not to mention its links to one of the most beloved franchises of all time) have led to this number inflating considerably over the course of the past six years.

The home was made famous as a result of it being depicted in the Harry Potter series of films, with Potter being raised there by his aunt Petunia and uncle Vernon Dusley following the death of the Boy Who Lived’s parents, alongside their obnoxious son Dudley. Harry was ill-treated by the Dursleys, with him being forced to live in a cupboard under the stairs until he was taken to Hogwarts by Hagrid. This cupboard is described as a “cloakroom” by the property’s listing.
