Billy Crystal will be back in Australia in July 2016 for a series of shows across major capital cities.
Comedian, actor, producer, director and writer Crystal, who recently told Fairfax that he may move to New Zealand if Donald Trump is elected president of the United States, returns to the country for the first time since 2007, and is set to provide an evening of hilarity for audiences as he provides his observations and reflections on his life, career and the world around us.
Crystal’s last tour to Australia was for his Tony award-winning play 700 Sundays. “I’m absolutely delighted to be back in Australia. My experience with 700 Sundays was fantastic. Audiences were sensational and the people we met were unforgettable,” he said in a press release.
An Evening of Sit Down with Billy Crystal is set to be hosted by producer, comedian and Gold Logie-nominated talk-show host Andrew Denton, who has previously interviewed such personalities as Bono, Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Clinton, Helen Mirren and John Travolta.
“I’m also really excited to be working with Andrew Denton. He’s very witty and incisive and we’ll bring the best out of each other,” said Clinton. “The show will be spontaneous, funny and unpredictable. I tell stories, I perform, we show film clips. And yes, I will stand up. It’s not only a conversation with Andrew, it’s with the audience as well.”
Tickets go on sale on Monday, April 18.
