Goon 2 Coming To Hockey (And Comedy) Fans

As if the first 2012 go at Goon weren’t funny enough, Hollywood heavyweights Liev Schreiber and Seann William Scott have signed on for Goon 2, which will begin production in Toronto this fall.

Homegrown beauty Elisha Cuthbert will also be joining the cast.

According to Global News, Canadian actor Jay Baruchel, who both co-wrote and co-produced the two hockey flicks, said Goon 2 is good to go “after a very long time, a lot of hard work and blood, sweat and tears.”

Baruchel has been talking about a Goon sequel since last summer when he was promoting his Just For Laughs show in Montreal, his hometown (The Canadian Press). “I’m proud as hell of the first one but I think we’re going to smoke it with No. 2.” While fans can expect “all the stuff you loved from the first one and then some,” Baruchel said Goon 2 will have “a bit more gravitas” and be a bit darker.

Deadline reported that the name of the sequel will be Goon: Last Of The Enforcers.
