Ubisoft No Longer Developing Major Franchises For Seventh Gen Consoles

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are seemingly getting the axe when it comes to Ubisoft’s major franchises and their future development. Don’t worry though, if you are a Just Dance fiend, you’ll still get some more of those games if you own a PS3 or 360.

Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six, The Division, and future unannounced franchises will be developed for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only, and we are hardly surprised at all. We are quite a while into the 8th generation of home consoles, and it was only a matter of time before large publishers began to ring the bell of doom for last-gen hardware. If you’re on older hardware, might we suggest you scrape together your pennies and head on over to your local big-box retailer.

Thanks to Crave’s Game Revolution for this industry update.
