First Look: Death of Wolverine: Deadpool & Captain America

Wolverine is dead.

As Marvel and Disney bury their cash cow under a thick layer of adamantium (at least until the next Wolverine movie) it’s a time for great sadness in the X-Men’s corner of the Marvel Universe.

But now is the time for laughter. So, laugh, damn it!

Regular Deadpool writer Gerry Duggan is tackling the end of Wolverine’s life with Death of Wolverine: Deadpool & Captain America one shot. During Duggan’s run on Deadpool, the title character actually formed a bond with Cap and Wolverine before untimely aging and event comics caught up to them, respectively. With Logan dead (for now), it’s up to Old Steve Rogers and Deadpool to make sure that no one can clone their friend.

Too bad the Hand is already well on their way, courtesy of a knife with Wolverine’s DNA! Can Deadpool and General Geriatric Cap save the day?

Probably. But we’ll read the comic anyway.

Joining Duggan on this one shot is artist Scott Kolins, whom you may recall from his lengthy stint on The Flash at DC. Death of Wolverine: Deadpool & Captain America hits comic stores on Wednesday, October 29.
