‘Enlisted’ Producers Bring ‘Big’ TV Series To Fox

In 1988, the film Big was one of Tom Hanks’ breakout roles and an unexpected box office hit. In the movie, 12-year old Josh Baskin (David Moscow) wished he was “Big” and he found himself transformed into an adult, as played by Hanks.

According to Deadline, Fox is developing “Big” as a half hour comedy TV series from Kevin Biegel and Mike Royce, the executive producers of the recently beloved (and canceled) “Enlisted.” The original Big film was directed by Penny Marshall from a script by Gary Ross and Anne Spielberg.

The new incarnation of “Big” will reportedly be a loose adaptation of the movie that “will explore what it means to be an adult, what it means to be a kid, and how in today’s world those two things are more confused than ever.”

“Big” doesn’t currently have a pilot order, but it will likely contend for a spot on Fox’s Fall 2015 TV schedule.
