Game Of Thrones Exhibition Coming To Sydney This July

HBO have announced that they will be bringing their Game of Thrones exhibition to Sydney this July after enjoying successful runs in New York, Mexico City and Austin during the SXSW music and film conference. Presented by Google Play, the exhibition will take place early in the month and will reportedly feature almost 100 artifacts from the hit HBO fantasy series.

Details about the Australian installment of the exhibition are scant, but it is expected to be entirely free of charge to attend and will feature props and objects from the show’s most recent season. Sydney fans and the diehards who are willing to travel can reportedly expect to see dragon eggs, banners, crowns, swords and other weapons on display.

According to a press release (via Gizmodo) the exhibition looks to provide an immersive experience for fans, giving them a chance to step into the enchanted world of Game of Thrones, its characters and relationships. Full dates and details are expected to be announced shortly and there is currently no indication that the exhibition will travel to other parts of the country.

Readers can see footage from the exhibition’s SXSW installment, which was attended by several stars from the show, including Gwendoline Christie and Maisie Williams, below. The SXSW edition featured many set pieces and costumes from the series, as well as an Oculus Rift installation that simulates the experience of traveling up a 700-foot ice wall, as the Night’s Watch do in the show.
