Bill Hader Lands His Own HBO Comedy Series

Last year, Bill Hader finished his eight season run on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” But he’s heading back to TV in a major way.
 
Deadline is reporting that HBO has signed Hader to a deal that will allow him to create and star in a new comedy series on the network. During his time on “SNL,” Hader was considered to be one of the show’s most versatile performers and he earned two Emmy nominations. It isn’t clear yet if Hader’s new project will be a traditional comedy or a variety comedy that would allow him assume many different personas.
 
Hader has also written for “South Park” and he has appeared in several feature films including Superbad, Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, Adventureland, Men in Black 3, Paul, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Hader also lent his vocal skills to the animated film, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
 
While Hader’s HBO project doesn’t currently have an announced release date, Hader will appear opposite Kristen Wiig in The Skeleton Twins later this year.
