Fox Puts ‘Gotham’ on Mondays, Shifts Fall Schedule

For over a  decade, Fox has maintained its Animation Domination lineup on Sunday nights by featuring only animated shows to be paired with “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy.” But starting this fall, that programming block is being broken up.

Earlier today, Fox announced its Fall 2014 TV schedule; which marks a major departure from the network’s recent past. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and a new comedy series called “Mulaney” are coming to Sunday nights, with “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” taking the 8:30pm slot after “The Simpsons” and “Mulaney” following “Family Guy.”

Fox’s heavily anticipated Batman prequel, “Gotham” will kick off Monday nights before leading into the second season of “Sleepy Hollow.” Fox also revealed that the first season of “Gotham” will have 16 episodes, while “Sleepy Hollow” will have 18 episodes.

With “The X-Factor” leaving a hole on Fox’s fall schedule, the network is filling the 8pm Tuesday slot with a reality show called “Utopia” as a lead in to returning comedies “New Girl” and “The Mindy Project.”

“Bones” will anchor Fox’s Thursday nights at 8pm, with “Gracepoint” (an American incarnation of the British series, “Broadchurch”) following at 9pm. Friday remains a wasteland on Fox, with “Masterchef Junior” and more episodes of “Utopia.”
