Marvel Announces Original Sins Spinoff Miniseries For June

Marvel’s Original Sin has just been expanded.

As hinted in the June 2014 solicitations, Marvel is spinning a new five issue anthology miniseries, Original Sins out of the upcoming event book, Original Sin by Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato.

The Original Sins miniseries will feature three stories per issue that deal with the fallout of the Watcher’s murder on various characters throughout the Marvel Universe. But the Young Avengers will be the primary focus of a story throughout the five issues, as they take on the Hood. Ryan North will be writing that story with art by Ramon Villalobos.

Note that the Scarlet Witch is in the Mark Brooks cover for Original Sins # 1; which suggests that her death in Uncanny Avengers will be reversed by June.

Dan Slott and Mark Bagley are contributing a J. Jonah Jameson story, while James Robinson is writing a Doctor Doom story and Charles Soule is writing an Inhumans story. The first issue of Original Sins will also feature Nathan Edmondson and artist Mike Perkins reviving the Michael Collins incarnation of Deathlok; which is likely timed to capitalize on the Deathlok currently appearing in “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” on ABC. Other characters in line for Original Sins stories include Lockjaw, the Black Knight and Howard The Duck.

During a conference call, Marvel also said that there will be five brand new titles launching out of Original Sin, and it was hinted that one of them will feature a female lead.

Original Sins kicks off this June.
