‘American Horror Story’ Season 4 Will Be a ‘Freak Show’

Next fall, Jessica Lange will headline her final season on “American Horror Story.” And after spending time in the Murder House, an Asylum and a Coven, the time has come to the carnivale circuit.

After weeks of speculation, “American Horror Story” co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed that the upcoming fourth season will be called “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” Little is currently known about the “Freak Show” storyline, but it is rumored to take place in the 1950s.

“American Horror Story” has become a ratings juggernaut for FX, with the third season premiere bringing in 5.5 million viewers. The cast and executive producers of “American Horror Story: Coven” will be honored later this week at the PaleyFest in Los Angeles for its third year in a row. Traditionally, Murphy has used the PaleyFest event to announce new cast members for the upcoming season.

FX will likely premiere “American Horror Story: Freak Show” in October.
