First Look: The CW Reveals The Full Costume of The Flash

At the end of February, The CW teased an image of Grant Gustlin’s Barry Allen in his Flash costume. But at the time, all we saw was a side view of the Flash’s mask.

Now that “The Flash” is officially in production, The CW has released the first complete photo of Gustlin in costume as the Flash. Academy Award winning costume designer Colleen Atwood brought the newest incarnation of the Flash’s costume to life. Atwood previously designed the outfit of the title hero in “Arrow.”
For comparison’s sake, this is what the Flash previously looked like in live action during the 1990 CBS incarnation of “The Flash” starring John Wesley Shipp as DC’s iconic speedster.
Veteran TV director David Nutter is slated to helm the pilot episode of “The Flash” from a script by “Arrow” executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kriesberg, along with comic scribe Geoff Johns.
In addition to Gustlin, “The Flash” cast includes Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Rick Cosnett, Carlos Valdes and Danielle Panabaker. Shipp is also slated to recur on “The Flash” in a currently unrevealed role.
If “The Flash” is ordered to series as expected, it will likely premiere on The CW in the fall.
