‘Supernatural: Tribes’ Becomes ‘Supernatural: Bloodlines’

By this time next year, there could be two “Supernatural” series on The CW. But the new show will no longer be known as “Supernatural: Tribes.”

TVLine is reporting that the new name of the “Supernatural” spinoff is “Supernatural: Bloodlines.” The potential new series is set in Chicago, which is secretly controlled by rival monster families.

The story also notes that Melissa Roxburgh has snagged the final leading role on “Supernatural: Bloodlines.” Roxburgh will play Violet Durant, a werewolf who hides her true nature because she is in love with David (Nathaniel Bozulic), a shapeshifter from a rival family.

Roxburgh has previously appeared as a different character in “Supernatural,” in addition to guest spots in “Arrow” and a co-starring role in two of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies.

“Supernatural: Bloodlines” also features Sean Faris as Julian Durant, another member of Violet’s werewolf family, with Danielle Savre as a shapeshifter named Margo Hayden and Lucien Laviscount as a police trainee turned hunter, Ennis Roth. Stephen Martines costars as Chicago PD Detective Freddie Costa, a mentor of sorts to Ennis who is also on the take from the monster families.

The characters from “Supernatural: Bloodlines” will be introduced in the 20th episode of the current season of “Supernatural” on Tuesday, April 29. If “Bloodlines” is ordered to series, it will likely debut in Fall 2014.
