‘Suits’ Star Patrick J. Adams Will Father ‘Rosemary’s Baby’

Last month, Zoe Saldana signed on to play the lead in NBC’s contemporary remake of “Rosemary’s Baby.” Now Saldana’s onscreen husband has been found.

Deadline is reporting that Patrick J. Adams has landed the male lead in the four hour “Rosemary’s Baby” miniseries. Adams will play Guy Woodhouse, the husband of Rosemary (Saldana). During the story, Rosemary will come to suspect that Guy and several of their neighbors are plotting against her with dark designs on her unborn child. In Roman Polanski’s 1968 film adaptation, Guy was played by John Cassavetes.

Adams is best known for co-starring in the USA dramedy “Suits,” in addition to his appearances in “Lie To Me,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “NCIS,” “Lost” and “FlashForward.”

Former “Awake” star Jason Issacs has also been cast in the new “Rosemary’s Baby” as Roman Castevet, the leader of the coven living in Rosemary’s apartment building. In the feature film, Roman was played by Sidney Blackmer.

Within the United States, Issacs is best known for playing Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films. Issacs has also appeared in “Entourage,” “The West Wing” and “Brotherhood” in addition to voicing Admiral Zhao in “Avatar: The Last Airbender.”

NBC’s “Rosemary’s Baby” is said to be more closely based on the original novel by Ira Levin as opposed to Polanski’s film. Agnieska Holland is directing the “Rosemary’s Baby” miniseries and it is expected to begin production in Paris early this year.
