What Canadians Watched In 2013

BBM Canada in conjunction with Bell Media recently released the results of a new year-long survey that looked at what Canadians watched over the course of 2013, and it seems that Canucks have a penchant for reality shows, geeky comedies and good old-fashioned football.

“The Amazing Race Canada,” who are currently holding auditions for their next season, along with “The Big Bang Theory” were the most-watched shows on television, according to the study. Super Bowl XLVII and the Grey Cup were two of the biggest television events of the year, as were the Oscars and Golden Globe Awards. And “Game of Thrones” and “True Blood” were the most popular series on pay channels.

The Boston Marathon bombings, the election of Pope Francis, and the controversy surrounding Toronto Mayor Rob Ford were among the most-watched news events of 2013, the official press release pointed out.
