South Park Episode Misses Deadline for First Time in 17 Years

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have lived on the edge for all 17 years of South Park‘s existence. The two write, voice and animate the show all in six days. It’s how the shows stay topical and relevant week after week.

Wednesday, October 16, South Park missed a show date for the first time because of a power outage at South Park Studios in Culver City, California. The episode they were working on, Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers, will instead air next Wednesday.

Trey Parker released a statement on their website, reposted to Crave’s Collider.com.

“It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen.” – Trey Parker
