Joe Mauer’s Love For Twins Doubles

Joe Mauer is a six-time All-Star and arguably the greatest catcher of his generation. He’s spent his entire career playing for the Minnesota Twins; now, he has twins of his own.

According to FOX Sports, it appears Mauer’s wife went into labor Tuesday. The All-Star catcher hopped on a plane and fled home to make it to the delivery room just in time.

The Minnesota Twins catcher welcomed twin girls this week, the first children for he and wife Maddie.

Mauer left the team before Tuesday night’s game against the Angels to fly home to Minnesota. He made it in time for the birth of Emily and Maren early Wednesday, according to Twins director of baseball communications and player relations Dustin Morse.

Mauer was placed on the paternity leave list before Wednesday’s game. Catcher Drew Butera was recalled from Triple-A Rochester.

To one of the most likeable guys in sports, I must give out a big ccongratulations, Joe!…and to your wife Maddie as well! Now your twins will grow up Twins fans as they go to the ballpark, rooting for their daddy in Twins gear. Love it.
