The Last of Us is Big in Japan

Even when an American video game is well reviewed, it doesn’t often mean success in Japan. The Last of Us is one of the best reviewed games of the year and sold 1.3 million copies in the week after it’s June 14 launch.

Crave’s sister site Destructoid revealed Thursday the latest game from Naughty Dog sold roughly 117,500 copies in Japan, leading game sales in that country. It’s a rare win for a Western game, breaking through the Nintendo 3DS dominance at the top.
