“Diners, Drive-ins And Dives” Visits Toronto

The popular Guy Fieri-led Food Network Canada show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” recently checked out five Toronto eateries, which will be profiled beginning mid-March on the network.

A few of the places he checks out include the meatball-only joint Hey Meatball, The Lakeview Restaurant, where Fieri tries their stuffed French toast, a cornflake chicken club and an apple pie milkshake, The Ace in Roncesvalles Village where the host noshes on a mac and cheese burger and a Christmas burger with a side of pork belly, and Caplansky’s Deli, a landmark Jewish deli in Toronto serving up smoked meats and knishes the old school way.

In each half-hour episode, Fieri rolls up his sleeves and lends a hand in the cooking process, getting a glimpse at some of the city’s highly-coveted, mouth-watering comfort food recipes. During the last season of “Triple D” (as Fieri and foodie fans affectionately call it), the show made its first Canadian stop in Vancouver.

“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” airs Friday nights at 10pm on Food Network Canada with the first of the Toronto episodes premiering on March 15th.
