Mike Flanagan‘s Carrie TV show, based on Stephen King‘s iconic novel, has revealed its first look. The upcoming project is going to be a miniseries on Prime Video.
What do we see in the Carrie first look images?
The first look images for the Carrie TV show highlight the main cast of the miniseries, led by Summer H. Howell. She will play the titular role of Carrie in the new take on King’s cult classic story.
There are other images as well, featuring the rest of the cast members, including Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Joe Oulette as Tommy Ross, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, and Arthur Conti as Billy.
The Carrie TV show is described as a “bold, timely, and surprising reinvention” of King’s popular coming-of-age story. Originally published in 1974, the story was King’s debut horror novel. It spent 14 weeks on The New York Times Best Seller list.
The official synopsis for the Carrie TV series reads, “Misfit high‑schooler Carrie White (Summer Howell) has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social‑media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.”
The ensemble cast of the Carrie TV show also features Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle and Josie Tota as Tina.
Flanagan, known for Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Hill House, has written as well as executive produced the project. He will also direct four episodes of Carrie. Additionally, Stephen King is also serving as an executive producer.
The eight-episode TV miniseries is set to premiere in October 2026 on Prime Video.
