Meanwhile in Fast Food: Popeyes Rat Infestation Video Explains Their Chicken Sandwich Sunday Giveaway

People are crazy for Popeyes…but that infamous fried chicken isn’t only appealing to humans. Apparently, rats love it, too.

After a deliveryman’s now-viral TikTok video revealed that rodents ran rampant around a Washington DC location, it was shuttered for “health code violations.”

“You still love that chicken from Popeyes,” TikToker @blaqazzrick01 jokes in the video, which was shot after hours in the 409 Eighth St. SE store and revealed “some wild shit.”

After he switches on the lights, as many as 15 rats can be seen scurrying around the kitchen floor, walls, and ceiling during the two-minute clip.

Soon after the nauseating video spread from social media to local news sites, the DC Health Division of Food posted a closure notice on the establishment’s door.

Sadly, as the TikToker implied, we doubt that a little rat activity will keep devotees of the fast-food chain from coming back to the venue for Louisiana-style eats as soon as it reopens.
