But do we have to tip any of them?
If you’ve ever taken the NYC subway you will realize that people will “entertain” you all while you try to look at your phone or pretend you’re sleeping so you don’t have to tip them. The majority of the time they are extremely annoying, but it’s part of the city. Well, one subway performer had quite the day when he decided to stand up for a couple.
Jean Loup Wolfman, a 48-year-old hula hoop subway performer, noticed that a bunch of dancers were harassing an older Jewish couple who refused to tip them — probably because the dancers sucked.
“He starts screaming at the guy, like violently, ‘I will slap that beanie off your head!'” Wolfman recalled. “And he goes to the guy’s yarmulke like this, and he slaps the yarmulke off the guy’s head.”
And that’s when Wolfman intervened. But clearly, it didn’t go well for him.

Wolfman was chased around the station after stepping off the train, and eventually beaten up pretty badly — with his own damn hula hoop.

Fortunately, police were able to catch one of the dudes — 21-year-old Stefan Britt was arrested.
Well, here’s hoping this doesn’t stop Wolfman from entertaining thousands of folks with his riveting hula hoop talents.
