This Anti-Theft Backpack Just Raised Over $1 Million on Kickstarter

ClickPack Pro, an anti-theft backpack designed to protect its wearer and their valuables, has raised $1.2 million on Kickstarter despite having an initial goal of just $5,000.

8,399 backers pledged cash to bring the ClickPack Pro to life, with it now ranking as one of the most successful Kickstarter projects ever in terms of the amount a product has exceeded its goal. Created by Korin Design, the ClickPack Pro is said to “combine security, storage, convenience, comfort and beauty.” It achieves this by way of retaining a minimalist, compact style while also being packed with a variety of pockets, straps and a charging station, with its scientific storage system letting the wearer use as much of its ample space as possible.

As for its security features, the ClickPack Pro is armed with slash resistant fabric to ensure that a sharp object can’t be used to penetrate its exterior, while its retractable wire lock can be used to tie it to a secure place, such as a storage rack on a train, if the wearer needs to put it down. A password lock also ensures that it can’t be opened using its zip unless the user has the code.

The backpack is useful outside of its security features, too. A USB cable can also be pulled from out of its charging station, allowing the wearer to both charge their phone and use it as the same time. There’s also a hidden, waterproof pouch to store your umbrella on a rainy day.

The ClickPack Pro’s campaign has ended, though the retail version of the product will be $198. It’s expected to ship to backers by July 2017, though there’s no word on when it will become available to everyone else. Check out its campaign video below:
