Last Week Tonight host and shining moral compass John Oliver has used the opening segment of his Comedy Central program to address this weekend’s massacre in Orlando.
Oliver offered viewers a non-political, unbiased and wildly level-headed assessment of what went down, explaining that a Latin-themed event at a gay nightclub in North America’s theme park capital represents the “the ultimate symbol if what is truly wonderful about America” and that’s just what the “dipshit terrorist” had in mind.
Known for being able to give some pretty hard answers to tough questions, Oliver sad soberingly that with the limited information at hand, the situation “just hurts.” However, you’d have to be made of stone to not get something from the final moments of his address.
Wrapping up the intro, Oliver offers a glimpse of humans at their finest, showing footage of a line that stretches around the block of people waiting to donate blood. “It kind of reminds you that that terrorist dipshit is vastly outnumbered.”
