Louis C.K. Says He Doesn’t “Have Stories For That Guy Anymore” Of FX Show ‘Louie’

Fans of Louis C.K.‘s award-winning FX series “Louie” will be disappointed to hear that the show won’t be coming back from hiatus anytime soon, after C.K. himself has told The Hollywood Reporter he doesn’t “have stories for that guy anymore” referring to his alter ego on the show.

Referring to the character as a ” just-divorced kinda underwater dad/struggling New York comic,” C.K. signaled that while he may no longer have material for that Louie, he wasn’t ruling out returning to him later in life.

“The show is autobiographical, so what John Landgraf [FX president and general manager] and I have always thought is that it may come back with a different set of stories from a different angle a little further down the road,” he said.

Still, don’t hold you breathe as while C.K. himself may have moved on to new chapters in his life, the character might need time to catch up. Currently still working on his web series co-starring Steve Buscemi “Horace & Pete, C.K. isn’t ruling anything out.

“It just depends on if it writes,” he said. “I think, for me, if I’m on TV again doing a single-camera show, it’s Louie. But I don’t know. I have no idea. I needed to not know if I’d ever do it again — I needed to feel that way — so that’s the way I feel right now.”

Emphasizing that he wouldn’t,”ever want to do the show because I owe another season,” don’t expect him to rush. Having also taken a hiatus between season 3 and 4, the only thing one can be sure about when it comes to Louis C.K. is that he will do whatever he wants to when he wants to.
