10 Mythical Artifacts Indiana Jones Hasn’t Discovered Yet

After years of speculation, Disney has finally announced that a fifth Indiana Jones movie is coming on July 19, 2019. Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford will be back, George Lucas and Shia LaBeouf probably won’t. And that’s about all we know about the new movie for now. The script apparently hasn’t been written yet.

But there’s one thing we do know about Indiana Jones, and that’s that his stories revolve around ancient myths turning out to be very, very real. The Ark of the Covenant was real, and was able to liquify Nazis. The sacred Sivalinga stones gave the Thuggee cult the ability to control minds and rip out still-beating hearts. The Holy Grail could bring dead father’s back to life. The pre-Colombian crystal skulls were actual, fossilized alien heads.

So while the details of all four Indiana Jones movies might differ in setting and tone, there is some consistency here. If the fifth Indiana Jones movie follows suit, and it probably will, then we will most likely see our hero once again learning that it’s true – all of it – and fighting to keep an all-powerful, supposedly mythological artifact out of evil hands. Again.

Which begs the question: which mythical artifacts are left? There’s no shortage of fictional, all-powerful objects out there, but narrowing done the relics that have the most dramatic potential is a little harder. Disney is probably hard at work concocting a similar list right now.

So take a gander at our top 10 mythical artifacts that we think would make a great Indiana Jones movie, let us know if you have any exciting ideas of your own, and let’s just wait and see. If Disney decides to go with any of the following ancient objects, we’ll all be able to say we told you so.
