Rumor: Warner Bros. Won’t Bother Releasing the Batman Arkham Remastered Collection on PC

The Batman Arkham series has had a troubled history on PC. With the  Batman: Arkham Origins PC port having suffered from numerous bugs, Arkham Knight failed to right its wrongs and somehow wound up being even worse, with many who purchased the game on Steam finding it virtually unplayable due to its horrific performance issues. Publishers Warner Bros. Interactive, who have a storied history of completely messing up their PC ports, even went so far as to remove it from the Steam Store altogether, with Steam issuing refunds to those who had purchased it.

But rather than putting the time into actually developing a passable PC port of one of their games, if rumors are to be believed then a potential Batman Arkham Remastered Collection will completely overlook the platform, with it instead only releasing on the PS4 and Xbox One.

According to a new video from Unseen 64’s Liam Robertson, a collection containing remastered versions of Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City is currently in development and, according to Robertson’s sources, could release as early as this summer. Arkham Origins reportedly won’t be included as part of this collection, while there’s no definitive answer as to whether or not Arkham Knight will be included, though it is speculated that it will receive its own special edition at some point this year.

But the most interesting piece of information pertaining to this rumor is that Warner Bros. Interactive might overlook the PC entirely, as Robertson’s leak of a survey sent out by Warner Bros. last year saw the publisher only referring to PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, as you can see below:

With the Arkham series and Warner Bros. Interactive having sullied their reputation with PC gamers, this rumor would suggest that the company isn’t confident in releasing the Batman Arkham Remastered Collection on the platform. While it would have been preferable if they wouldn’t have tried to pull the wool over PC players’ eyes and actually produced a functioning game in the first place, it’s not really surprising that they wouldn’t be prepared to take the risk of the game bombing on the platform.

However, these are just rumors and thus far there has been no official confirmation from the company that the Batman Arkham Remastered Collection exists.
