The Walking Dead Cast Invades James Lipton’s Inside The Actors Studio

In just two weeks, The Walking Dead will return to AMC for the second half of its sixth season. But before that happens, James Lipton will host a special episode of Inside The Actors Studio with Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and several cast members from the series including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Lauren Cohan, and Steven Yeun.

While The Walking Dead is currently an unrivaled cultural phenomenon, it was still a relatively low selling comic book just over a decade ago. To be clear, Kirkman and his comic book collaborators, artists Tony Moore, and later Charlie Adlard quickly had a hit comic series, yet it sold far less than many Marvel or DC titles. The Walking Dead’s sales numbers were huge by indie comic standards, but for years they were just big enough to allow the comic to continue.

In a preview clip from his appearance on Inside The Actors Studio, Kirkman admits that he would have sold out for a Walking Dead movie years before AMC picked it up as a TV series. He may not even be joking when he says that Hollywood wanted to put “lazer zombies” in the potential Walking Dead film!

The Walking Dead will return to AMC on Sunday, February 14 with eight new episodes. The Walking Dead episode of Inside The Actors Studio will be broadcast on Bravo on Thursday, February 11. The Walking Dead spinoff, Fear The Walking Dead will also return later this year.
