Marrakech Film Festival Puts Spotlight On Canadian Flicks

The Marrakech Film Festival will be highlighting Canadian films as well as Canuck talent, organizers recently announced, including director Atom Egoyan, who received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award this year.

Egoyan’s latest project is a film called Remember – according to Variety, the director will also play host at the 15th edition of the event. “Through films such as Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter and Felicia’s Journey, Egoyan has brilliantly explored the solitude of individuals struggling amid an alienating society,” the festival stated.

Canadian director Stephen Dunn and his film, Closet Monster, will also compete at the fest.

The Marrakech Film Festival will run for nine days and kicks off this coming Friday.
