TotalBiscuit Says His Cancer Has Returned and is Inoperable

YouTuber TotalBiscuit, most famous for his gaming series ‘WTF Is…’ on the video-sharing site, has posted a tweet revealing that the results of his latest CT scan have come back positive, with there being “no cure” for cancer spots found on his liver.

The video maker, real name John Bain, was diagnosed with cancer in May 2014. In January 2015 he revealed to his followers that a scan had come back clear, though today he took to Twitter to reveal that the results of his latest scan highlighted that though the cancer in his bowel was gone, doctors had found spots on his liver, and that they had informed him that he faced an average life expectancy of 2-3 years though there have been outliers who have lived longer.

Bain wrote: “Well, I don’t know if there is really a right way to tell people this, so I guess here goes. The CT did not come back negative. The cancer in the bowel is gone, but spots have appeared in my liver. They’re not operable and there’s no cure.

“Average life expectancy is 2-3 years, though there are outliers that live much longer. I’ll be back on chemo in a few weeks, with the goal of pushing it back and keeping it there for as long as possible. I fully intend to be the outlier, the average is this way because most people that get this are old and not strong anymore.

“Who knows what they’ll come up with in the next decade? I intend to beat it for as long as possible. Gonna need some time to process all of this. I don’t really feel anything right now. Thanks.”

Following his statement, Bain then posted the following tweet:

Bain has amassed over 2 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, and is a figurehead of the YouTube channel network Polaris along with co-hosting the popular Co-Optional Podcast alongside Jesse Cox and Brooke “Dodger” Lawson.

We wish Bain the very best in this difficult time.
