Space Orders Second Season Of Killjoys

The popular Space series Killjoys is coming back for a second season, the network recently announced – production begins in Toronto this winter.

Space confirmed that it has ordered 10 additional, one-hour episodes of its most-watched original series. Created by showrunner Michelle Lovretta (Lost Girl), Killjoys follows a trio of reclamation agents – or “Killjoys” – as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant planetary system on the brink of a bloody class war.

Season 2 of the Canadian series will see the return of Hannah John-Kamen (The Hour) as Dutch, a cunning and deadly assassin with a fierce dedication to her killjoy family; Aaron Ashmore (Smallville), as her loyal partner John, the witty tech wizard with a vulnerable heart; and Luke MacFarlane (Brothers And Sisters) as D’avin, a former soldier and John’s hot-headed brother whose quick-tempered decisions often land him in precarious situations.

“It’s a testament to the excellence of Killjoys that the series gained more loyal viewers week after week in its debut season,” said Tracey Pearce, Head of Specialty and Pay at Bell Media, in a press release. “We look forward to working with our partners at Temple Street Productions and Syfy to give our engaged, genre-loving viewers what they want in Season 2 – an expanded Killjoys universe.”

“We are proud that Killjoys has connected so well with viewers to become a ratings and critical success,” said David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, Co-Presidents of Temple Street Productions and Executive Producers of Killjoys. “We are thrilled to partner with Space again for a second season and look forward to building on this unique world for our stellar cast to continue the captivating journey.”
