The Big List | The 50 Worst Movies of the Decade (So Far)

1. The Atlas Shrugged Trilogy (2011-2014)

Atlas Distribution Company

Progressives who worry about Fox News’ power to make its audience support absolutely anything can take comfort that Glenn Beck endorsements and Sean Hannity cameos weren’t enough to make any of these movies the slightest bit successful. Based on Ayn Rand’s lengthy novel about how great the super-rich are and how we all need to get out of their way, this trilogy (Part II was the least awful of the bunch, for those keeping score) was embarrassingly cheap and thuddingly written and acted, even for viewers who subscribe to Rand’s philosophy. In other words, even if you’re an Objectivist, these movies were objectively objectionable.

Worst Moment: Too many to choose from, but probably the moment in the final film, Atlas Shrugged: Who Is John Galt?, when Dagny (Laura Regan) buys produce from a woman who then gives her an unprompted earful about homeschooling. It’s like Tea Party fan service. Alonso Duralde
