Interview | Moon Taxi: Staying Honest, Channeling The Dead

Moon Taxi, who recently performed at Lollapalooza, is a relatively recent band out of Nashville (they formed in 2006). They might be described as a jam band, that rarest of animals that seems to have barely escaped the late 1960s. Moon Taxi takes a lot of their tonal cues –  if not necessarily their sound –  from The Grateful Dead. They certainly have the appropriate laid-back attitude.

Moon Taxi (that is Trevor Terndrup, Tommy Putnam, Spencer Thomson, Tyler Ritter, and Wes Bailey) was kind enough to have a relaxed sit-down with Crave to talk about their upcoming record, what they most certainly don’t want to happen to them after a hard day, and what they will play at an upcoming event. Hint: It’s the music from the Mos Eisley Cantina scene from Star Wars. Check out the video below.
