Even if The Rock‘s new big-budget disaster movie, San Andreas turns out to be 2015’s biggest cinematic turkey it still won’t be all bad, and that’s because it’s brought us Sia‘s fabulous cover of The Mamas & The Papas classic, “California Dreaming”.
Re-worked for the film’s soundtrack, the folk-rock gem has had new life breathed into it by everyone’s favourite paper bag popstar, simultaneously becoming slicker, more cinematic, and dare we say even more deeply haunting than the original.
The tune features in the official teaser for San Andreas, a film in which WWE Superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson pilots a chopper on a mission to rescue his estranged daughter, after a massive earthquake devastates, you guessed it, California.
Sorry people’s champ, but Sia is the real star here.
