TV on the Radio have shared the new video for their Seeds track “Trouble,” and rather than go over the top with crazy visuals, the clip turns the lens on our all-too-common melancholy. The video feature meditative close-ups of people looking either sad, pensive, remorseful, regretful or generally down. Lead singer Tunde Adebimpe meets some of them on the street and offers them hugs, brightening an otherwise painful viewing experience.
Somehow, though, in the isolation and despair we find a relatable sense of community, an empathy for these strangers, a desire to tell them it’s going to be okay. Even though we’re pretty sure by now that nothing really is, in the long run.
