Keith Lemon Will Host Back to the Future Documentary For Some Reason

ITV continues to be unable to envisage a show without it featuring Keith Lemon in some capacity, as the network has just announced that its documentary to mark the 30th anniversary of the first Back to the Future movie will be hosted by Leigh Francis’ anti-funny comic creation.

Lemon, most famous for hosting the panel show Celebrity Juice, has somehow been deemed the perfect choice to present the 90-minute special, titled Keith Lemon’s Back to the Future Tribute, and that’s not all – the show will also feature appearances from numerous middle-of-the-road celebrities who will be reenacting scenes from the ’80s classic, including Paddy McGuinness as Biff and chef Gino D’Acampo as Doc. Just think, someone hosted a boardroom meeting to discuss this show, and rather than being laughed out of the building they actually managed to get it greenlit.

The “documentary” will inevitably air on ITV2, a barren wasteland of entertainment that Lemon dominates along with re-runs of old Judd Apatow movies and The Only Way Is Essex. If for some reason you were still optimistic that it would be of slight interest to Back to the Future fans, take a look at the announcement released by Lemon:

“It’s well documented that I’m a massive BTTF fan but I’m not well documented for mecking documentaries. I’m very excited. I feel like a geeky 40-year-old virgin, accept I’m not 40 and I’ve had loads of sex. Let’s get that flux capacitor fluxing!”

Needless to say, if you’re a Back to the Future fan and wish to celebrate its 30th anniversary, it’s best that you put the movie on for a spin rather than waste your time with what we can only imagine will be an almighty trainwreck.

For the curious, Keith Lemon’s Back to the Future Tribute is set to air on ITV2 in the autumn.
