Sports Announcer Greg Anthony Arrested, Suspended By CBS

12-year veteran broadcaster and retired basketball star Greg Anthony was arrested Friday evening in Washington D.C., and as a result is now suspended indefinitely by CBS.

The early reports coming out are very cut and dry.

The former Knicks star was arrested and charged with solicitation of a prostitute according to D.C. police. The 47-year-old faces a misdemeanor charge that could land him up to 180 days in jail.

A CBS spokeswoman told the A.P., “Greg Anthony will not be working again for CBS this season.” Anthony also did broadcasts for Turner Sports. That network has suspended him as well and has yet to release a further comment.

Anthony was scheduled to announce the Michigan State-Maryland men’s basketball game Saturday in College Park, Maryland.

The former UNLV star played 11 seasons in the NBA from 1991-2002, playing for the Knicks, Blazers and Bulls, among others.
