RIP: Brian Goble Of Subhumans Has Died

Regarded as a veritable punk legend, especially in his hometown of Vancouver, BC, Subhumans frontman Brian Goble has died of a heart attack, the Vancouver Sun has reported.

The 57-year-old musician died on Sunday reportedly after suffering a heart attack. No one was aware of any pre-existing health problems that Goble may have had.

Goble left a sizable mark on the punk scene in the 1980s and 90s through his work with Subhumans (not to be confused with the UK band of the same name), as well as two other bands that garnered major praise over the years, particularly on the local scene: as bassist for Skulls as well as D.O.A. Subhumans’ debut album hit shelves back in 1980 and was entitled Incorrect Thoughts – it received great attention, and they followed that up with 1983’s No Wishes, No Prayers before breaking up for more than a decade.

Reuniting in 2006, Subhumans, with Goble at the helm, put out New Dark Age Parade, and their most recent project was the album Same Thoughts Different Day, which was released in 2010.
