Daniel Radcliffe Discusses Harry Potter Spin-off Fantastic Beasts

Daniel Radcliffe has said that he is excited about the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off trilogy Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,  even though he likely will not appear in the series.

The actor, who portrayed Harry Potter in the film adaptations of author JK Rowling’s hugely popular novels, has opened up about what he thinks of the much-anticipated Fantastic Beasts, telling Digital Spy: “It’ll be slightly bizarre, but it’ll be great. I’m excited to see what they do with them, and I also have no idea what they’re doing with them, which is exciting.”

He continued: “It’s amazing because we’re three years removed from the last film coming out,” Radcliffe continued, “and it’s not that I would have expected it to die down by now, but… every time I go to a premiere, there’s Gryffindor ties and Ravenclaw badges and stuff. There’s still such a hunger for it, so I think it’s kind of wonderful they’re continuing to expand the world. But having said that, there is a sense of relief in just being able to sit back and watch and enjoy it with everyone else.”

The first iinstalmentin the trilogy is set to hit theaters on November 18th, 2016.

The book was written by Rowling back in 2001, with it being penned from the perspective of fictional author Newt Scamander. It details a number of the beasts that roam the Harry Potter universe, which Scamander obtained through years of traveling across five continents. The films will focus upon the journeys that the “author” embarks upon.
