‘The Matrix’ Creator Says ‘Harry Potter’ Fans Are Part of a Bigger Problem

Harry Potter is a magical series with countless fans, and every installment has won over both audiences and critics. However, a recent comment from The Matrix creator Lilly Wachowski could upset fans, as she suggested that fans of the Harry Potter movies written by J.K. Rowling are part of a bigger problem.

Lilly Wachowski criticizes J.K. Rowling over the new HBO ‘Harry Potter’ series

Recently, The Matrix creator Lilly Wachowski spoke with Variety about her new studio, and during the interview, she criticized J.K. Rowling over the new HBO Harry Potter series.

Wachowski said, “She is funding trans genocide. J.K. Rowling funds trans genocide, full stop. So, if you support “Harry Potter,” you’re supporting trans genocide.”

“The money that goes into you enjoying these products, a portion of that money goes to J.K. Rowling and that money goes into her funding anti-trans legislation all over the world.” She added

During the interview, Lily Wachowski did not hold back while criticizing J.K. Rowling. Before calling her fans part of a bigger problem, the Cloud Atlas star also called the British author a Nazi and compared her to Elon Musk, though not in a positive way.

Lilly concluded, ” It’s simple math. So, your enjoyment of these shows, and continued support of these shows, is supporting my eradication.”

For context, J.K. Rowling and Lily Wachowski have never had any notable history of personal rivalry, and both have certainly given audiences several acclaimed films. However, this controversy has more to do with their opposing views than their work.

The author believes that biological sex is real and that transgender women should not be allowed in traditionally female-only spaces, such as women’s restrooms and shelters.

According to reports, Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling supports and funds organizations that provide legal assistance to people fighting to preserve sex-based rights for women in the workplace, a cause that trans activists consider anti-trans. Meanwhile, The Matrix trilogy creator Lily Wachowski is a trans filmmaker.
