Alien: Isolation Has Gone Gold, New Gameplay Trailer Released

Alien: Isolation has officially gone gold. That means that any development from here on out will be post-production. Given its release date of October 7th, it’s well ahead of schedule.

Alien: Isolation has earned a reputation from those who have played it pre-release as having an immersive atmosphere, which is horrifying when you realize that you’ll be trying to avoid a flesh-hungry Alien. Made better, the Alien has been given a ton of programming time, resulting in it behaving unpredictably. The development team has emphasized that it wants the Alien to be a constant threat, and in order to do that it has tried to avoid the event trigger style of most horror games.

Weapons are sparse in Alien: Isolation, so you’ll have to rely on stealth and keen observation to stay alive. Most gameplay videos up to this point have shown what mostly appears to be a first-person stealth game. However, there is a lot of story to digest. The Creative Assembly understood before development that fans of Alien want to feel like it’s an authentic Alien game, which truthfully has been said many times in the past during the development of countless disappointing Alien video games. This one seems promising, though. It looks the part, the development team has a strong track record, and it has a unique sense of gameplay style.

A new trailer has been released to celebrate Alien: Isolation going gold, and it offers a little more insight into what it’s like to play the game.. Check it out above.
