Frankie Boyle Brands Jeremy Clarkson a “Tumour” Following Racism Claims

Frankie Boyle has made his thoughts on Jeremy Clarkson clear, branding the Top Gear host a “cultural tumour” and calling upon the BBC to sack him from his position.

Boyle commented upon the furor surrounding the video that emerged of Clarkson seemingly using thee word “n*****” whilst recording footage for Top Gear, with the Glaswegian comedian offering his stern opinion to those in attendance at the Guardian Edinburgh international television festival.

Boyle said: “[Clarkson] comes from a very bad place and the reason he’s tolerated is that he’s recognised by people in power … in fact he’s a friend of [David] Cameron’s.” Increasing his vitriol towards the presenter, Boyle added: “He’s in there like a f****** growth and he should be removed because he’s horrible. Sack him because he’s a cultural tumour.”

The controversy surrounding Clarkson stems from a video that was leaked online which depicted him reciting a racist nursery rhyme. Clarkson initially denied any wrongdoing, but then released a grovelling apology which still served to distance himself from the remark he had seemingly made.

Clarkson escaped a dismissal in May despite the evidence shown in the video footage, which many pointing to his position atop the BBC’s presenter hierarchy as reasoning behind him escaping punishment. An internal investigation was launched by the BBC to question Top Gear employees regarding Clarkson’s behaviour, but the results of that investigation have not been confirmed by the company.
