Bungie to Extend Destiny’s PS4 Alpha for “Dangerous Experiments”

Last week it was announced that not only are PS4 owners getting exclusive access to a Destiny Alpha, but that it was already available. Thousands of gamers have been trying out the game a full three months before launch… until last night when it ended. Thankfully, the Alpha has been extended so gamers can get some extra time in.

Bungie posted the following on Twitter:

There’s a rumor that the #Destiny Alpha might be extended to allow dangerous experiments. Play beyond the official close at your own risk!

They then followed up with:

Yup. Alpha still works. Now, we’re gonna test it in expert mode. If you’re still playing, pardon our dust. This is for the Beta!

So, the Alpha has been extended for an indefinite amount of time. Get as much time in while you can, because soon it’ll all be over, and you’ll have to wait until the beta which begins on July 17th.

Sony announced during its E3 Press Conference that not only is the PS4 getting an exclusive Alpha, but also some content at launch that no other platform will ever see. The content hasn’t been fully detailed, yet, but it’s been hinted that it includes weapons and missions.
